History was made today as Team Australia flew the flag proudly at the Alaskan State Fair Demolition Derby (29th August, Alaska / 30th August Australia). It was a massive step forward for the Australian Demolition Derby Association (ADDA) and another milestone in our international journey to showcase Aussie talent on the world stage.
The Team’s Battle in Alaska
Our drivers came prepared for one of the toughest derby stages in the USA:
Matt “Ruthless” Moore (Captain) and Daniel “Punisher” Bergantin both fought hard and earned their way into the Fullsize Feature Event – an incredible achievement against some of America’s finest drivers.
Zak “Reaper” Kelly faced heartbreak early when his fullsize derby car blew its motor in the pits. He still made it to the start line, but the car died just as the green flag was about to drop.
But Zak’s day wasn’t over yet. In true Aussie spirit, he jumped into a much smaller car loaned to him by the organisers – and against all odds, powered through to claim 3rd place in the Compact Class!
Flying the Flag
The Alaskan crowd got their first real taste of Australian demolition derby, and our drivers made sure they knew we don’t back down. From big hits to relentless determination, ADDA’s reputation grew stronger today, proving that Aussie derby drivers can mix it with the best in the world.
