David Jacobi – QLD

1983-2024

David was involved in speedway since he was 8 years old & sat alongside his brother Steven Jacobi watching his father Brian Jacobi, mother April Jacobi & uncle Bob Russell compete in derbies & speedway.

First derby – Melbourne speedbowl 1983 he was 19 years old in a HD Holden wagon

Known as Jacko’s Express until later years rebranding as the ‘cat pak’ with his father & brother

Mainly derbied valiants & tank fairlanes in Melbourne. Even rolled himself once during an event in Melbourne.

Competed in derbies, caravan derbies, figure 8 chain races in Melbourne from 1983-1990 before making the move interstate to QLD which found him kicking back off into derbies in 2010 starting with Beaudesert Show & then the addiction came back which found him travelling all over south east QLD & Northern NSW at shows & speedways winning at multiple events.

He rolled someone at Lismore speedway caravan derby.

In the more recent years, he has mainly derbied HT Holdens, XF falcons & a few valiants.

Preferred car to derby is a HT Holden.

David recently tested out a Magna & didn’t like it.

David Jacobi is a living legend of the Sport who continues his path into the history books by teaching the next generation of Derby icons. The ADDA is proud to induct Mr Jacobi into our Demolition Derby Hall of Fame for 2024.
